Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2025. This policy describes how GTA Bot (“we”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Discord bot.

1. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary for the bot to function:

• Discord user ID — Used to identify your account and store your in-game progress (cash, bank balance, reputation, level, businesses, properties, etc.).
• In-game data — Your progress, choices, and statistics within the GTA Bot game (stored in our database).
• Server/guild ID — Where applicable, to support server-specific features (e.g. level-up channel settings).

We do not collect your email, real name, or other personal information beyond what Discord provides (e.g. user ID and display name as shown in Discord).

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Provide and maintain game functionality (wallet, bank, jobs, heists, businesses, etc.).
• Store your progress and preferences so you can continue playing across sessions.
• Enforce bot and server rules (e.g. Terms of Service acceptance, moderation).
• Improve and debug the bot (e.g. logs may include user IDs in error reports; we do not sell this data).

3. Storage and Retention

Game data is stored in a secure database (e.g. Neon/PostgreSQL). We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after to allow recovery. We do not store real-money payment data; the bot uses virtual currency only.

4. Third Parties

We rely on:

• Discord — To operate the bot and receive commands/interactions; Discord’s own privacy policy applies to your use of Discord.
• Hosting and database providers — To run the bot and store data; they process data on our behalf under standard service agreements. We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Your Rights

You may:

• Request access to or deletion of your game data by contacting the bot operators (e.g. via the support Discord server).
• Stop using the bot at any time; you can request that your data be removed.

If you are in a region with additional privacy rights (e.g. GDPR), we will respond to valid requests in line with applicable law.

6. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For major changes, we may announce them in the support server.
